The legendary Bonnie Tyler is representing the United Kingdom in the Eurovision Song Contest with the song “Believe in Me” and an amazing performance was given today. Can the trophy go to London in 2014?
WHAT WE LIKED
The UK rehearsal unvelied something we haven’t seen yet in any other of the performances. The catwalk end rises up and lifts Bonnie at the end of her performance. The vocal performance is not that superb but it’s Bonnie Tyler and we love it. Surrounded by musiciand and one backing vocalist (female), Bonnie is giving a powerful performance. Yes, it’s time for the UK to win! If yes, they deserve it.
WHATS WE DISLIKED
The only thing someone can dislike is that this song it’s not memorable, or a hit. But Bonnie takes over the song and presents is in her own way and making it hers.
INFORMATION ABOUT THE UNITED KINGDOM
Perhaps best known for the classic Jim Steinman songs Total Eclipse Of The Heart and Holding Out For A Hero, Bonnie Tyler has had number one albums on both sides of the Atlantic, has been nominated for three Grammys, won the Yamaha World Song Festival, and has sold over 20 million records in her career so far. She continues to tour and play live shows constantly, which she loves to do. Tyler now has a brand new album, titled Rocks And Honey, and her Eurovision entry, Believe In Me, comes from that new record. “What makes our entry special is that we have a beautiful song by world class songwriter, Desmond Child, that appeals to a wide variety of people across borders, age groups and other dividing lines. It brings people together and that is an essential part of the purpose of the Eurovision Song Contest.
