THE NETHERLANDS – Live from Rotterdam, this post will come to you online at the end of each day of the Eurovision rehearsal weeks. This post will feature the major information from the delegations aside from their official rehearsals and press conferences.
No surprise as Duncan Laurence announced as the Dutch spokesperson for Eurovision 2021.
NORWAY / AZERBAIJAN
TIX admitted what we all suspected after his yesterday’s love song to Azerbaijan. TIX met Efendi in Rotterdam and immediately fell in love. This is the sweetest news of the day. A promo stunt? Who knows…
“The lead singer of Ukraine’s band Go_A, Kateryna Pavlenko, reported feeling a little unwell this morning. In accordance with the health and safety protocol, she has undergone a PCR test for COVID-19 and, as a precautionary measure, Kateryna will miss this afternoon’s rehearsal and press conference. We wish her good health and will share more information when we have the results of the test. The other members of Go_A have all tested negative for COVID-19 and will perform with a stand-in singer. They will also attend Ukraine’s press conference later as scheduled.”
Spanish broadcaster TEN, which had previously shown interest in broadcasting national finals, recently confirmed that it will broadcast the Eesti Laul 2022 final live. In a statement, the broadcaster clarifies this decision-making:
“Due to the interest shown by TEN and Eurovision fans in the broadcasts for the election of the different representatives at the Eurovision Festival, TEN reached an agreement with Eesti Rahvusringhääling (ERR), the Estonian Public Broadcasting Agency, for the broadcast in 2022 of the Grand Final of Eesti Laul “.
The Grand Final of Eesti Laul 2022 will be the first foreign national final to be broadcast over an open signal channel in Spain. With this agreement, Eesti Laul joins the list of national finals broadcast internationally to countries that cannot participate in the choice of the winner. Until then, only Melodifestivalen, Festival di Sanremo and Festivali i Kenges were on that list.
BOSNIA & HERZEGOVINA
Following the news from Hungary, BHRT is now the next broadcaster confirming no broadcast of the EUROVISION SONG CONTEST 2021 no reason given. Thankfully the Bosnian fans will be compensated through EUROVISION.TV and their YouTube channel.
Carolina Di Domenico will deliver the jury votes on the grand final night. Carolina Di Domenico is a presenter and actress, also working as a Eurovision commentator in 2018, alongside Saverio Raimondo.
Speaking to ERR, Uku Suviste expressed satisfaction for his first rehearsal but he thinks he can do better, that’s why he is rating his first attempt on stage with 4/10.
“I was very satisfied with what the stage team had done and how the Eurovision team had done everything. But that was the first test, there are still changes and things that need to be improved to get better.”
ΤΙΧ posted on Instagram a video singing a love song for Azerbaijan. Is there something going on with Efendi? We will definitely try to find out more about this.
