Greta Salome, Iceland:
What a night! It´s a unique feeling knowing you had the performance of your life and a whole stadium shouting out for your country when they were announcing the finalists and still not make it into the finals. I can honestly say that I feel like a winner after tonight´s show and there is nothing I could have done better. And of course my team has been the best I could ever have had. I´ve seen the twitter and Facebook discussions and I am beyond grateful for the support I´ve been getting. I´m just as surprised as you all are, but maybe just not as disappointed, simply for the fact that I am so happy with the performance. I am also so grateful for the great comments we got from the commentators and all of you out there. The message about the song has been spreading like fire for the last few days and we will take that message and make it ours. I am not sad tonight…..surprised yes but overall grateful especially for all of those messages I´ve been getting from you across Europe and most but not least the people in Iceland. Wow!! Thanks for all your comments and support! We’re surprised too but the highlight of my night yesterday was hearing the auditorium chant “Iceland” in the final announcements. The responses and requests after last night have been out of this world and exceeds all expectations! This was definitely the performance of my lifetime and I could not be happier with that!
Dalal, Bosnia & Herzegovina: Just a bit of background, there has been a massive negative response from the Bosnian public towards its representatives for failing to qualify. Our job is not just to sing, write songs or music, we must raise our voice and turn attention to what happened to us and is still happening. They didn’t surround us with a wire fence but they did with walls of prejudice because we come from Bosnia and Herzegovina. I had that feeling when I was 11 and was run out of my home. It’s a feeling my father had all his life because of the colour of his skin. I have that feeling still today when they single me out at the airport because of my passport, my skin colour, my religion, my name. Everyone who loves but is forbidden to love has that feeling, who have different ideals, who have a beard because they are in style in all of Europe, but only we are not allowed to have them because they will call us names. Because we come from Bosnia and Herzegovina. Because, unfortunately, our country has that image across the world. Thank you to Sweden’s SVT which wrote that finally one country was brave enough to give its opinion through their Eurovision performance of the current crisis, but also about events in the past which Europe could have prevented but didn’t. That country is Bosnia and Herzegovina. I am proud to have been part of the team this year which has no support from the state, didn’t get a single cent from the budget, a team which managed to find its own commercial sponsors and invest in order for our country to participate at the Eurovision Song Contest and pay for the broadcast, so you, dear people – Bosnians and Herzegovinians – could follow all three nights of the Eurovision Song Contest thorugh our public broadcaster.
Rykka, Switzerland: THANK YOU EVERYONE!! Eurovision was such an amazing experience! Thank you so much for all of your love and support. Thank you so much to the whole team!! Watch out in the next months for a brand new single with a new video, and the whole album soon!
Nicky Byrne, Ireland: Amazing Time Amazing Support I gave it my all, I’m sorry I didn’t get us there. I pass on the torch to someone else now next year.
Kaliopi, FYR Macedonia: Thank you all for the support! I hope that you`ve enjoyed in “DONA” as much as I did.
ManuElla, Slovenia: I just wanted to say THANK YOU EUROPE for all your support!!! I really love you all. I didn’t make it to the final, but now I’m even more sure that it is really hard to compete with music… But anyway it was still the best time of my life!!! Thank You soooo much!!!
Agnete, Norway: Yesterday was awesome! I am not disappointed! Of course, it would have been great fun to be in the grand final on Saturday, but I gave it all, I performed on the biggest stage in the world and had fun, despite my challenges. I won over myself, and for that, I am very proud! A big thank you to all that is supporting me, and have supported me through this whole experience. I am lucky to have so many fantastic people in my life! Thanks for all the votes and love, much love from me.
Highway, Montenegro: Thanks everyone for the beautiful comments and the big support! It was a great honour to represent our country at such a competition. See you soon with a new song!
Sandhja, Finland: I’m so proud of us. Sing it away!
Eneda Tarifa, Albania: Thank you very much for all who voted for Albania …
