BELGIUM – Belgian newspaper publishes today an article where a Belgian hairdresser will work at Eurovision next week, stylizing the hair of various Eurostars, mostly from Eastern Europe as she speaks fluent Russian. This information comes after the Google calendar mentioning a LAGY GAG concert at AHOY ARENA on May 22, which Sietse Bakker denied with the phrase “no, as far as we know”…
THE HLN POST SAYS
Elena Zimina, like two other Belgian ladies, can go to the Eurovision Song Contest in Rotterdam, to cut the artists’ hair.ย Izegem hairdresser Elena (31) is allowed to go to Eurovision Song Contest with a year delay.ย She had already given up hope, but a while ago the Izegem hairdresser Elena Zimina got the good news that she can join the Eurovision Song Contest as a hairstylist. Normally that trip was planned last year, but then corona put a stop to it. On Sunday she will leave for Rotterdam, where she will work and live in a ‘hairdressing bubble’ for a week.
She does not know yet which artists Elena will be able to take care of.
โWe do have to style the backing singers, musicians and presenters in addition to the bands,โ she says. โIt’s not about haircuts, it’s about making stage hairstyles. Knowing Eurosong there will undoubtedly be some eccentric ones. It would be nice if Hooverphonic singer Geike Arnaert ended up in my chair, although Lady Gaga will be there too and who knows she might end up with me. All hairdressers will already have the same opportunities. Our Spanish head hairdresser Antonio has promised that. I took a course with him in Barcelona last year and he is known as one of the best hairdressers in the world. Chances are I will be able to do the haircut of participants from Eastern Bloc countries anyway because I am one of the few on the team who speaks Russian. My roots are in that country, but that does not mean that I will support the Russian act. I am more of a fan of the Hooverphonic song and will therefore keep my fingers crossed for Belgium. โ
