GREECE – The daily afternoon TV show of ERT, STUDIO 4 has been appointed to follow up the Eurovision developments this year. Following the report of the Sanremo Festival, the news about the Greek music video was next.
It is known that today, Amanda Tenfjord came from Norway to film the official music video for her Eurovision 2022 entry, which will represent Greece in Eurovision.
The filming is taking place in the island of Symi, 4 miles from Turkey. The ERT TV show, STUDIO 4 had a live feed from Symi, where the ERT reporter described the complexity of the production, in which 19 people are involved.
Alongside, the Mayor of Symi was also live on the show. Mr Eleftherios Papakalodoukas talked about the uniqueness of the island and brought politics once again into the spotlight. According to Mr Papakalodoukas, filming the official Eurovision video on the island of Symi sends a clear message about the island’s sovereignty to the Turks.
The recent tension in the relations of Greece and Turkey are not a secret. Now, the issue is used to justify the Eurovision music video production, which was never really explained by the Greek national broadcaster as to why this island was actually chosen.
On the island of Symi, the Greek head of delegation should really have a talk with the Mayor as the entire project was somehow humiliated live on TV (or at least used for political purposes). While Kostas Kromydas is giving the guidelines for the music video filming, the Mayor of Symi concluded his live interview on ERT by asking the Greek government to send doctors to the island, in order for Symi to remain viable.
Complete propaganda out of Eurovision!
To be fair, the hosts of STUDIO 4 were seen clearly stressed on how to handle the conversation avoiding continuing it. Nevertheless, the ERT duo, Nancy and Thanassis announced that Amanda will be live on the show within this week, in case some of you anticipate it.
