Swedish national broadcaster announced today the rules for the 2014 edition of Melodifestivalen. Submissions will last from September 3rd to 18th and 32 songs will compete once again in the semifinals of the biggest national selection of Europe.
SVT also announced that 20% of the submissions should be composed by female authors or at last in collaboration with a male one, for the section of public selection. 16 songs will be selected by a professional jury or public choice and 15+1 will be selected by the show producers.

Svensktoppen Νästa 2013 on Swedish Radio P4 is kicking off and the winner of the radio contest will be the first participant in the 2014 edition of Melodifestivalen just like last year. The contest is taking place amongst regional radio stations as well and a jury selects the eight finalists, the winner will be declared on a live radio show (and public show) on August 25h by jury voting and public voting.
