ISRAEL – A weird post by the Italian press has been discussed in the Eurovision community. The “invasion” of Michael Ben David with the hosts in the second semifinal seems to have caused the fury of the EBU. Let’s see what IL GIORNO says:
Eurovision gives, Eurovision takes away. And so Michael Ben David, Israel’s standard-bearer singer, was banned from Eurovision 2022.
The reason? His exuberance was not liked by the rigid organization of the EBU, the European broadcaster union. That is the body that organizes the entire musical event.
Michael Ben David, at the end of all the performances – when the voting was still open – insinuated himself between the three conductors Mika, Alessandro Cattelan and Laura Pausini making a little “too much friend” and printing a kiss on Alessandro’s cheek Cattelan.
His practices are not foreseen by the Eurovision Song Contest regulations.
So here is the disqualification, made official this afternoon.

The news emerged during today’s press conference of the three presenters, during which Cattelan reiterated, as already mentioned above, that he found it funny.
Ben David had been exposed several times for gay rights and, in the song presented to the contest, he says he was bullied for his voice.
