ISRAEL – Tonight on The X Factor, Israel picked their Eurovision 2022 representative. We have a winner after three intense rounds. Michael Ben David’s “I.M” will represent Israel in Turin!
One of the finalists, Sapir Saban, was eliminated before the final round. She performed “Breaking My Own Walls” in the final.
Initially, each of the four finalists had two possible Eurovision submissions, but on Thursday, one song from each artist was chosen for tonight’s The X Factor final.
The audience (50% of the vote), the judges (25% of the vote), and the professional committee decided the final outcome (25% of the vote).
Israel will participate in the Eurovision Song Contest 2022’s second semifinal. On May 12th, Michael Ben David will perform during the first part of the performance.

ABOUT MICHAEL
Michael Ben-David is 25ย years of age and hails from Petah Tikva, a city in the Central District of Israel that lies just 10ย kilometres east of Tel Aviv. Heโs spoken quite openly on the show about the difficulties he faced as a child, from being bullied at school for singing in a high-pitched voice, to the trouble that his mother initially had accepting him when he came out as gay. Michael has noted that this has contributed to him finding a lot of inner strength in himself, a trait which has been noted and encouraged by his X Factor Israel mentors. His song I.M is a suitably themed anthem of self-acceptance.
