BUCHAREST, ROMANIA – Mihai Traistariu, the 2006 Eurovision Song Contest representative, who also participated in the 2016 Romanian National Final with the song “Paradisio” reacted to the big announcement by EBU.
Mihai Traistariu, who could have been the 2016 Romanian representative cannot imagine what this decision mean if he was the representative of the country in the contest as he was ready to invest almost 100,000 Euros to his stage presentation for Stockholm.
Mihai also questions how TVR managed to bring the country in this dead end. Where the money from the public fee to the national broadcaster go? The city of Baia Mare invested 100,000 Euros in the national final show. Besides Eurovision, Romanians will not be able to see this year Euro 2016 and the Summer Olympic Games.
More than 10 million Euros are still pending to the EBU debt and the government is still unable to find a solution to the problem despite the constant notifications from the European Broadcasting Union.
