GREECE – One day after the announcement of the five that qualifies for the next phase of selection of the final representative of Greece in Eurovision 2022, the 4-member nusixties band from Thessaloniki published 2 of its 3 proposals for its candidacy in Eurovision 2022.
The band referred to ERT’s decision not to include them in the top five: “We are obviously sad that we did not qualify for the top five but, although we would have preferred a national final because it would have validated the final representative in the most meritocratic way, we trust ERT’s judgment “and we wish good luck to all 5 finalists. We are renewing our appointment for Eurovision 2023!”
Due to personal issues related to the pandemic, Mobvibe postponed the date of the Live Stream Concert and the release of their next Single and Music Video to January 15, 2022.
“If the Beatles travelled into the future to record a new album, they would sound like Mobvibe,” kickkicksnare wrote. com, one of the official Grammy Awards blogs. Rumour has it that Mobvibe discovered a mysterious time machine that takes them back to the 1960s, otherwise, it is difficult to explain how they have created such a successful fusion of Beatles retro pop and modern dance music. Their musical style, which they called “nusixties”, looks like a love revolution, a social movement that aims to unite all people under the sounds of happy music and the promise of a carefree lifestyle.
Based in Thessaloniki and fueled by the pop-rock invasion of 1960, the 4-member Mobvibe were founded in 2010 with the release of their first single “Take a look around” and worked for almost a decade to be able to connect the past with the present, creating the kind of music “nusixties”. In their EP debut “The Nusixties Invasion Part 1” released in 2018, Mobvibe presented four psychedelic pop-rock hymns that stood out for their unique rhythm, melody and energy and were warmly welcomed by many international music blogs.
From the release of their first EP onwards Mobvibe was active with concerts and events to promote their music such as open rehearsals attended by dozens of friends and fans in the band’s studio in the centre of Thessaloniki to experience and participate in the composition of young people. songs.
2021 finds them with new material ready to release the continuation of their 1st EP, with the same familiar nusixties sound as well as a new EP that will present the musical evolution of nusixties, whose songs were the official proposal for their representation of Greece at Eurovision 2022.
