CHISINAU, MOLDOVA – The semi finalists of Moldova’s national Eurovision selection, pop band Edict, have withdrawn from the competition. The three-piece band, which entered with the song “Our Star”, made it through the live auditions into the semi which was to take place on February 24.
In accordance with its rules, broadcaster TRM replaced the band with Anisoara Volinschi, which previously failed to make the cut with the song “Vocea inimii” (Voice of the heart). No reason has been given for Edict’s withdrawal from the national selection O melodie pentru Europa 2015.

Moldova has made nine appearances at the Eurovision Song Contest, debuting in 2005. It failed to make the final on two occasions, including last year. Moldova performs in the first half of the first semi final in Vienna on May 19.
