Natalia Barbu, Moldovan participant in the Eurovision Song Contest 2007 edition, withdrawn her interest to participate in the Moldovan 2013 national final procedure although she prepared a song already. The reason is the new regulation of TRM under which the TRM jury can give the song of a specific author and singer to another performer.
“It is something imposed only to Moldova and the authors submit their song along with an artist because they believe in the specific project and I wonder if the artists are naive to accept such a rule. I think the new rule is offensive to authors and singers and don’t get me wrong I can interpret even a phone book if needed, but I don’t like to be forced to share a song” says Natalia.
She continues: “Last week I asked TRM to accept my bid “Confession” asking if there will be a change in the ruling. The answer was negative therefore I cannot promise I will enter the national final this year” she concludes. The final decision of the artist was to withdrawn participation. She will release the song tomorrow.
