UKRAINE – The Ukrainian national broadcaster UA:PBC has terminated its Eurovision Song Contest collaboration, according to STB. STB, a private broadcaster, will no longer be participating in Ukraine’s Eurovision Song Contest participation.
STB will no longer organize Vidbir or assist support Ukrainian performers’ participation in the Eurovision Song Contest as a result of the deal. UA:PBC has decided to take over Vidbir and utilize it as the Ukrainian national selection process, according to STB.
The deal, which was inked in 2015, was originally for three years before being extended for another three. The Ukrainian selection was transformed into a showcase of the country’s music.
Natalia Franchuk (STB) stated:
“In six years, we have discovered a lot of new Ukrainian music, lit up new names, and shown new musical styles. We give the National Selection a high note and wish him to keep this bar. Thanks to the team, Serhiy Prytula, Ruslan Quinta, Kostya Meladze, and all the members of the jury for living with this project together with STB.”
