TURKEY – Fatih Melek’s new Eurovision parody “Don’t Socialize” takes on “Love Shine a Light” after EBU decided to build its tribute 2020 program “Europe Shine a Light” around this classic.
Following the popular “Grandi Cinque’s Karma”, “That’s How a Comeback Goes Wrong” and “Say No No No”, Fatih’s videos are seen as part of the Eurovision season by some of the fans. In this year’s parody, the main topic is, of course, the Coronavirus pandemic and the cancellation.
But the jokester focuses on how beautiful next year can be rather than dwelling on this. It is not just entertaining but also “educational” with instructions on how to stay safe, visualized with memorable Eurovision moments.
Most talked about scenes of the season like Montaigne’s pepper mill microphone and Roxen’s energetic dance are referenced in the video, which is completely self-made under quarantine.
