THE NETHERLANDS – The Eurovision Song Contest 2022 has been over for almost a week, but the controversies continue, above all that of Malgioglio and Chanel. Now another case has broken out, this time due to the words of two presenters from last year when the show was in Rotterdam. Chantal Janzen and Nikkie de Jager seem not to have liked the Italian edition of Eurovision too much.
“Em … my mom taught me something important. When you have absolutely nothing nice to say, then it’s best to shut up. Ok, I found it a bit embarrassing. But she made me appreciate more everything we did last year and how well everything went. The chemistry between us conductors was also stronger. I’m sorry now I’m gonna look like a real bitch. But I don’t think it was all that goodโ.
Last year’s other presenter, Chantal Janzen, also launched a dig:
“Thanks to our writers for not writing lines in our lyrics last year”.
Nikkie de Jagger also spoke about the latest Eurovision Song Contest on TV. The Dutch YouTuber and make-up artist explained what – in her opinion – is the difference between the 2021 show in Rotterdam and the one in Turin.
“Looking back at Eurovision I can say, what a fantastic job we did last year. We had tried it so well. And the four of us had so much fun. The Italian final? Let’s say that each country organizes the event in its own way. The Netherlands loves big shows, so that was our approach last year. In Italy, I would rather say that they have focused on their charm. I’ll tell you a curious anecdote. Saturday was a lot of fun because Jan was in Turin to comment. So we immediately knew everything in preview. For example, we knew an hour in advance that Laura Pausini had disappeared .
