The Croatian broadcaster, HRT, will not host a special television event to select its representative for the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest. Recently, HRT called for traditional klapa style songs to be submitted. The network will decide internally who it will send to Malmo from the applications it receives. The decision will made public in February with pop song with traditional klapa elements likely to be sent to Sweden.
Croatia has seen a string of bad results at the Eurovision Song Contest recently and hopes its new, somewhat unorthodox, approach of limiting its music style for the upcoming show will be successful.
