SCANDINAVIA, EUROPE – Eurovision stars in Nordic countries are highly active this week. Let’s see what they are up to and enjoy their brand new works. Eric Saade, Margaret Berger & Paradise Oskar have some news for us
COPENHAGEN, DENMARK – The winner of the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest, Emmelie de Forest has added another accolade to her name. The Danish singer has won the newly founded Mylle Award, named after Denmark’s famous Eurovision commentator and national final host. The award was given to Emmelie by OGAE Denmark and will be handed out on an annual basis to an individual who has done an extraordinary service to Eurovision in Denmark.
REYKJAVIK, ICELAND – Eythor Ingi, the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest representative for Iceland, will be performing in concert on the 8 November 2013 at the Íþróttahúsið Iða. Eythor Ingi will be performing along with his band Atomskáldin.
OSLO, NORWAY – The very Margaret Berger for it is she, recently took part in WiMP’s Live Sessions tour, performing a five song gig in an acoustic and intimate setting. But if you weren’t one of the lucky few attendees, you can watch it below.
HELSINKI, FINLAND – Paradise Oskar, the stage name of the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest Finnish representative, will no longer be used. The singer explained in a Finnish TV show that he will use his birth name, Axel Ehnström from now on in his career.
STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN – Written by Eric himself along with his two favourite Jasons (Gill and Santos), ‘Boomerang’ encapsulates the perfect mixture of precisely what Saade needed to produce on this album – a new level of maturity while still being utterly poptastic.
He felt like he needed to grow up a little bit on this record – and the fact that he’s sensible enough to know that this didn’t mean that he had to stop singing catchy pop songs, well that’s enough evidence that he actually has grown up. ‘Boomerang’ is what Eric Saade should sound like in 2013. And we have the utmost faith in him continuing to get it right in 2014 and beyond.
Jill Johnson has got herself a new album out this Winter. A duets album, no less. Featuring some old and some new duets with other famous singing folk. And one of the brand new tracks is a duet with everyone’s favourite Half Greek/Half Swede songstress, Helena Paparizou. It’s called ‘Enough’, and it’s a belter of a ballad.
