OSLO, NORWAY – It is confirmed now that Norwegian broadcaster TV2 is in discussions with the EBU in order the country to participate in the 2014 Junior Eurovision Song Contest. If this happens then TV2 will examine three options for the selection: Either use a participant from MGP Junior, Idol Junior or internal selection.
Norway hosted the 2004 Junior Eurovision Song Contest in which Spain triumphed with Maria Isabel. The last time Norway participated was in 2005 and it will be the second nordic country in the contest after Sweden.
In the meantime we still expect Hungary, Albania, FYR Macedonia, San Marino (which is interested but trying to find the money) and Moldova to confirm their participation while hopes for Spain and Romania seem to have been lost already. Today also Greece officially rejected participation in the contest as well.
