NORWAY – On Monday, January 11, we will meet the first contestants of MPG 2021. A total of six artists will receive tickets for this year’s Grand Final, while four names will be announced as they compete in the first semifinal on January 16.
In total, the MGP will consist of 5 semifinals this year, the Second Chance round and the Grand Final.
An integral part of the success of the Melodi Grand Prix, which has successfully completed 60 years of life, is the enthusiastic presence of the public.
However, the epidemiological situation prevailing in Norway does not allow the experts to turn on the “green light” for the presence of an audience at the H3 arena in Fornebu, where all the shows will be hosted.
But Stig Karlsen and the creative team behind this year’s MGP have the solution. The audience at MGP this year will be virtual. Anyone can videotape himself from the living room of his house for 20 seconds, in which he will applaud his favorite artists through applause.
As mentioned, an effort will be made for as many MGP friends as possible to appear at the H3 arena. Those who wish to take their own video can follow the instructions at the following link.
If nothing else the thought of the Norwegian organizers. Is it something we have seen in other tournaments, of course with the NBA Playoff “bubble” as a more typical example?
