Conan Osiris, Portugal’s representative at the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 in Tel Aviv, missed tonight’s triumph at the XXIV Golden Globes Gala, a gala that takes place at the Lisbon Coliseum. Conan Osiris was nominated for Best Performer, along with Captain Faust, Carmine, Carolina Deslandes, and Gisela João, and the Captain Faust group met the jury’s preferences. On the other hand, the public, responsible for the attribution of the Revelation category, chose João Félix over Conan Osiris, Alda Pinto, Isabela Valadeiro and Pedro Teixeira da Mota.Carolina Deslandes’ ‘A Vida’ won the Golden Globe for Best Music, which featured Marcia’s’ Tempest ‘and Mariza’s’ Who Wishes Me’. In the Best Show / Live Performance category, the award went to Mariza, one of those responsible for opening the 2018 Eurovision Festival Final, with Agir also in the nominees.

LRT has opened submissions for their national final Eurovizijos that will begin in early January and last until mid-February. Composers and songwriters can submit their songs from today, September 30 until December 8. Performers and bands participating in the national final will only be able to enter the contest with one song.

SWEDEN 🇸🇪
Following the announcement about Jon Ola Sand stepping down Christen Björkman states that he is not interested in the job. He likes the idea of helping other countries in selecting their entries. Not to forget he is also going to be involved in the US version of Eurovision.

GEORGIA 🇬🇪 As expected GPB made announcements for Eurovision 2021 today. Tornike Kipiani will be performing “You” for Georgia in Eurovision 2021. Tornike wrote and composed “You” himself, the song is being performed in English and is a mix of rock, pop-rock and blues-rock, with the song being about love. The arrangements took place at Bravo Records Studio alongside Aleko Berdzenishvili. The music video of “You” has been directed by Temo Kvirkvelia and the locations vary all over the country. Due to do the same job in 2020, Emilia Sandquist will be the stage director for the Georgian performance. 0 0

BELARUS 🇧🇾 With VAL out of the picture and Zena speculated to be the choice of BTRC, Belarus seems to get ready to make an official announcement for their internal selection on March 4th. In the meantime, there are efforts from the opposition and Swedish EU parliament members to force EBU to disqualify Belarus from Eurovision 2021 although EBU has made it clear that politics will not be involved in a music contest such is Eurovision. 8 0
