Lucian Zavoianu, the oikotimes.com corespondent in Romania, was a guest at Radio DEEA’s special edition of “Dance, Nice, Easy” dedicated to the Eurovision Song Contest and hosted by Petrut Nechifor. The discusionss started with the fact that a lot of important countries decided to withdraw from Eurovision 2013 due to the lack of money and how Romania is lucky to have a 200.000 Euros budget for the participation. When asked if Greece will participate, Lucian made a joke saying that Romanians should keep calm as their 10 points will be safe this year as well.
Asked about Inna’s participation in the Romanian NF, he made it clear that it’s not the case this year as she has a full schedule until September. Lucian also stated that it will be very interesting to see what genre the of song will Romania select for Eurovision 2013, as the internal music market made a major twist changing it’s interest from dance to reggae, but how good is the Romanian dance music seen abroad as a lot of local artists are nominated for Tunisia Music Award (Anda Adam, Arando Marquez, Chris Thrace, Glorya, REEA, Ruxandra Bar, Tony Ray and Vika Jigulina).
They both agreed that it will be a very good choice if Loredana would decide to enter her song “Apa” in the preselection as it’s the most airplayed song in the beginning of 2013 and Loredana is one of the best female voices in Romania. In the end, Lucian was asked if Romania will ever win the Eurovision Song Contest and he ended it like: “It’s the 15th Romanian participation this year. 15 is a very nice round number so it can also be a lucky charm”.
