Netherlands suddenly withdraw from the welcome party, Cascada singer skipped the protocol and FYR Macedonia gloriuoysly announced as Macedonia. These are the highlights of the welcome reception red carpet. The welcome reception in terms of format was a huge disappointment for most of the press and media representatives as it was first divided in two phases with them included only in the first one, not really allowed to interview the artists like other years besides a very short statement.

The SVT hosts explained during the live streaming all the details from each country entry and tried to greet them all artists in their native language an effort which surely deserves many applauses. We were trying for weeks to understand what will change in the event which was so safely kept away from the accreditated press and media who most of them left the press center and went to the Euroclub instead of the Opera House.
Kent Andersson, Malmรถ City Council President and Pia Kinhult, Region Skรฅne, Martin รsterdahl, executive producer and so does Petra Mede a guest appearance, opened the second phase of the event which was behind closed doors. Loreen was also attending the event and hopefully we will soon bring you the latest at least for her meet and greet with Farid Mammadov.
The accreditated press and media representatives went to the Euroclub where most of the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 participants went after the opening ceremony and enjoyed the drinks and food of the event dancing and taking photos with the fans. To mention them we saw Slovenia, FYR Macedonia, Greece, Montenegro, Albania, Ukraine (for a while only), Bulgaria, Romania, Moldova (only Pasha Parfeny), Serbia, Lithuania, Israel, Spain, France, Italy (but no German and British divas around), Sweden, Ireland. Most of the absent participants said that they needed a rest after the two opening events today and they needed to save their voices.
Eurovision 2013 winner Loreen and Linda Martin also attended the event.
After midnight the Euroclub started the real thing with various Melodifestivalen participants like Magnus Carlsson, David Lindgren and many many more ended up with a live performane by Swedish representative in 2013, Robin Stjernberg. After all it is his homeland organizing the event. Afterwadrs DJ set took over and flew us to the moon with magic Eurovision hits from recent past (not necessary though). To mention that Spain 1991 entry was danced more than any other in the DJ set!
Bobbysocks and Glen Vella was also there with the later celebrating his birthday today! The oikotimes.com team would like to wish him the very best for his ?? birthday!
Team Ireland was represented by Ryan Dolan along with Colm Farrell, Nicky Bailey, Alison Vard Miller, Ryan Dolan, Leanne Moore and Alan McGrath, who are all hoping to make it into the top ten at tomorrow night’s (May 16) semi-final, meaning we will be able to compete in the grand final on Saturday (May 18). Ryan spent over an hour on the red carpet greeting both fans and international media. Inside he mingled with other Eurovision hopefuls and enjoyed an orchestral version of last year’s winning hit, Euphoria.
