WARSAW, POLAND – The Polish Head of Delegation for the Eurovision Song Contest, Mikolaj Dobrowolski, has been fired by broadcaster TVP, local media report.
It comes just a week after Poland’s participation in the contest was questioned following the signing of controversial new media laws in the country, which allows for greater state influence in the broadcaster.
Dobrowolski served as the Head of Delegation in both 2014 and 2015 and was an assistant in 2010 and 2011. He has been replaced by Ewa Nowicka, who the government appointed as the Vice President of TVP.
