POLAND – On December 31, TVP2 invites you to the “New Year’s Eve of Dreams” during which we will probably know the name of the new Polish representative at Eurovision. Fans are getting impatient and guesses come up by themselves. The main suspect is still Daria and her radio hit “Paranoia”, although the singer maintains that she does not know anything about it and is tired of constantly asking fans about it.
In addition to speculations about Zenek Martyniuk, Roksana Wฤgiel or Sylwia Grzeszczak, an important player in this year’s selections is Kuba Szmajkowski, a young vocalist previously associated with the 4Dreamers formation (Interval Act of the JESC 2019 Opening Ceremony), who begins his solo career with the single “Infinite” written by Swedish authors.
SOME ALREADY CONFIRM THE DECISION
Despite the rumours that existed all the previous time and wanted Daria with Paranoia to be the one who will represent Poland in Eurovision 2022, there are those who claim that in the end, Krystian Ochman is the one who got the anointing. A few days earlier, he confirmed the rumours, saying that he has participated in the internal selection made by TVP this year.
NATIONAL FINAL?
Despite the fact that TVP initially stated that the Polish entry for Turin would be chosen internally, Polish media are now reporting that a national final will be held instead. According to Jastrzb Post, TVP is planning a national final with ten artists competing.
Krystian Ochman (who confirmed that he submitted an entry), Ania Byrcyn, and Daria Marx are among those said to be participating. The switch from internal selection to national final is said to be due to difficulties in selecting the Polish representative by the TVP internal selection committee.
The national final is scheduled for February 19, according to Eska.pl. The winner would be determined through a combination of jury and public voting.
TVP has yet to respond to this news. TVP is set to reveal the Polish representative for Eurovision 2022 this Saturday, after a two-week delay.
