POLAND – With TVP getting ready for the Polish national final on February 18th, they announced the jury members and the first guests for the show. The jury will be responsible for 50% of the decision.
Alice Węgorzewska is an opera singer (mezzo-soprano). She has performed on the stages of the National Opera in Warsaw Chamber Opera and the Neue Oper in Vienna. Węgorzewska has scored some gigs in Vienna, Berlin and New York. In 2011 – 2012, she was jury member in the The Voice. Since October 2016 she has been the director of the Warsaw Chamber Opera.
Robert Janowski is an actor and singer. In the 80s he performed in bands. Notoriety for his role in the musical Metro, Teatr Buffo, with whom he collaborated in subsequent productions. He works at the Dramatic Theatre in Warsaw. In addition, Janowski released 6 solo albums.
Maria Sadowska is a singer, director. She began her career in the Rainbow Music Box. In the late 90s her songs with songs of dance music have been successful in Japan. In later years, she released a CD with texts by email on Marie-Pawlikowska Jasnorzewska (2004) and jazz record to the music of Krzysztof Komeda (2006). Her last album – Jazz in the streets went gold in 2012, had a premiere of her first feature film – Women’s Day, which received awards in Cottbus, Paris and Lodz. Currently in theaters is shown in her next film, The Art of Love, the history Michalina Wisłocki. A wider audience is known as a coach on The Voice of Poland.
Wlodek Pawlik is a composer of jazz music. He has performed at major jazz festivals like The North Sea Jazz Festival. He is also the author of film music, among others, the film Rewers B. Lankosz. In 2014, he received together with his team, Kalisz Philharmonic and Randy Brecker Grammy Award in the category – large jazz ensemble album.
The last juror is Krzesimir Dębski – composer of contemporary music and film. As the leader of the group String Connection in the 80s performed all over Europe, Canada and the USA. Dębski has written songs for many popular performers including Edyta Gorniak, Kayah or Beaty Kozidrak. It is also written music for movies. Dębski also has experience conducting. In 1997, he served as conductor during a performance of Anna Maria Jopek in the Eurovision Song Contest in Dublin.
Dora and 2016 Junior Eurovision participant Olivia Wieczorek have been announced as guests of the show.
