BULGARIA – Poli Genova was found in Turin for Eurovision 2022. The singer, who brought one of the best results for Bulgaria in the competition, spoke out. Among other things, she revealed that she is preparing to return to Eurovision next year:
Yes, I’m getting ready to go back to Eurovision next year. This will be my third time in the competition and I hope the luckiest. I intend to approach the country’s public television, BNT, to be the representative of Bulgaria in Eurovision 2023. In fact, I am already writing songs. We even prepare the sets and the clothes. The right song remains.
In fact, a post she made with Russian pop singer Philipp Kirkorov sparked rumours of a joint collaboration at Eurovision 2023. After all, Kirkorov is of Bulgarian descent.
Poli Genova represented Bulgaria in the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest with the song “Na inat”, which did not qualify for the final. He returned to Eurovision five years later in 2016, representing Bulgaria for the second time with the song “If Love Was a Crime”. It brought Bulgaria to the final for the first time since 2007, ranking fourth, which is Bulgaria’s second highest position, behind the 2nd place of Kristian Kostov’s successor next year.
