Intelligent Music Project, at the foundation of which lay numerous collaborations with stars in the world of rock, received dozens of congratulations videos from popular colleagues of theirs, members of legendary bands, wishing Bulgaria and the Bulgarian representative to Eurovision success.
Dee Snider of Twisted Sister, Joel Hoekstra of Whitesnake, Tony Martin of Black Sabbath, Graham Bonnet of Rainbow, John Payne of Asia, Phil Campbell of Motorhead and Simon Phillips of TOTO are among the many rock legends that spoke in support of the Bulgarian representative to Eurovision.
“Здравей, как си, България (Hi, how are you doing, Bulgaria!)!” began Uriah Heep’s lead singer Bernie Shaw, followed immediately by Mick Box of the legendary band, remembering their numerous concerts in Bulgaria, as well as the July Morning Festival in the name of Uriah Heep’s song.
The band’s drummer Russell Gilbrook also wished Bulgaria and Intelligent Music Project luck.
The members of another outstanding band also sent their wishes for best of luck to the Bulgarian entry to Eurovision – Carl Sentence, Pete Agnew, Lee Agnew and Jimmy Murrison of Nazareth.
“I love the Eurovision song contest so I was delighted to find out that this year Bulgaria shall be represented by Intelligent Music Project with their song Intention. This is a great track by a seriously talented band!” shared the band’s drummer in the video.
“Go Bulgaria!” and “Support Bulgaria!” were among the sentiments expressed by Axel Rudi Pell, Rod Stewart’s drummer Carmine Appice, Eric Bloom of Blue Öyster Cult, Todd Sucherman of Styx, Bobby Rondinelli of Rainbow and Black Sabbath, Roger Earl of Foghat, DORO, Jeff Scott Soto of Yngwie Malmsteen and Journey, Gus G the guitar player in Ozzy Osbourne’s band, Mike Terrana the drummer of Yngwie Malmsteen and Journey, Tim Pierce who recorded with Michale Jackson, Bon Jovi and many others and Tony Carey the pianist of Rainbow.
“Over the years we have had the joy of working with amazing world-level musicians. They all proved to be wonderful people with whom we are friends still today. We had no doubt that they would support us for Eurovision. But we did not expect such a massive wave of congratulations and good wishes from legendary stars and bands in rock music. The most valuable thing is that every one of them mentions not only us but Bulgaria as well. This is the aim of all structures of Doctor Milen Vrabevski, part of which is the Intelligent Music Project too – working in favour of our homeland, to do so that our country’s name is mentioned worldwide with a positive attitude, that a world-class product can be created in Bulgaria too,” the band’s team share.
Bulgaria, led by Intelligent Music Project, will be part of the first Eurovision semifinal, aired live on BNT1 on 10 May from 10 PM EET.
