ROMANIA – Romanian national broadcaster issues a press release today confirming its participation to the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest. This makes Romania the 21st country confirming its participation for Portugal’s event edition along with Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Switzerland and Sweden.
TVR’s General Director Irina Radu about the national selection
“Eurovision is one of TVR’s premium programmes, and that is the reason why we will start preparations for Romania’s participation in the 2018 edition of the contest early. We will have more time to organise Selectia Nationala, to prepare the Romanian act’s show for the international stage and to attract as many sponsors and partners as possible in the project. Just by securing additional funds, will we be able to add them to the budget for 2018.”
