SPAIN – After coming third in Saturday’s Grand Final, the Spanish participant got congratulations from the Spanish Royal House.
Chanel’s song SloMo has given Spain their best placing since Anabel Conde finished second in 1995. She has millions of followers in Spain and around Europe, who have given SloMo a whopping 459 points.
Or was it her magnificent stage performance? In any case, her performance video has received 10,627,247 views on YouTube.
And it was noticed, even by the Royal Family! The King of Spain and his wife wrote her a letter of congratulations, which reads as follows in English:
This record follows a run of terrible luck for Spain. The nation scored 6 points last year and has only reached the top 10 three times in the previous ten years (6 times in the previous 20!).
From Their Majesties the Royals

We would also like to convey our congratulations to the team that accompanied you, and thank you for having represented Spain so well and for making us feel so proud.
With a big hug,
Felipe R. Letizia R.
