PORTUGAL – National broadcaster, according to local press Observador, seems to be open minded about the venue of the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest. President of the Portuguese broadcaster, Gonçalo Reis says that first EBU requirements will be clarified in order to decide the venue in connection with accommodation and airports. Therefore MEO arena is not at the moment confirmed although most people speculate that it will be the venue. Still no news on the Eurovision 2018 dates which will be decided on June 13th after the Reference Group meeting. Already, Santa Maria de Feira city declared interest to host the event but its clear that the city cannot offer a big venue. Another city, Guimarães also declared interest but it is too far from any airport available. It’s actually pretty clear that Lisbon will remain as speculated, the host city for the 63rd Eurovision Song Contest.
