SERBIA – The RTS broadcaster and Konstrakta were accused of supporting the Russian army at war in Ukraine with the publication of the Easter photoshoot.
Following the publication of new photos of Konstrakta to celebrate Orthodox Easter, broadcaster RTS and Konstrakta herself were accused on social media of supporting Russia and her army in the war in Ukraine. In the photos of the new promotional shoot, there are two wooden tables, the shape of which resembles the letter ‘Z’.
Outraged, in the following hours, the broadcaster released a press release in which it strongly condemned the inappropriate insinuations that many Serbian users made on social media and resolutely denied any intention to support the Russian army.
Specifically, RTS stated:
Serbian Radio and Television strongly condemn the inappropriate insinuations of some subjects on social networks due to the table in the photo of our representative at the Eurovision Song Contest because it resembles the letter “Z”, and which, therefore “represents support for the Russian army in the war in Ukraine “. We resolutely deny any such intention and consider it harmful to link our representative to the current political situation in the world. The tables in the photo have been used for more than three years for the needs of our shows, and in this case, they were used for only one photoshoot. Loading a new meaning into that scenographic element is absolutely useless and in some cases harmful.
