We all know that Eurovision Song Contest has new rules. If Russia will be not in top for viewers and they also will be not in top for jury, they may not even qualify for the final. Now this must be big quality for viewers or for jury. Average entries for both groups are now in worst situation.
I think here are two possibilities for jury:
1) They will vote for odds, rankings and generally strong countries (Russia, Sweden, Australia, Ukraine, France, Spain)
2) They will vote for Frans and other similar performances, because they think that this is good, subtle and polished (Sweden, Latvia, Hungary, Italy, maybe Poland).
Both of these possibilities suggest that there is no chance for Cyprus or Lithuania.
Sweden rules the world. English language is only the facade. Current standards prevailing in the world are swedish standards. They will win next edition of Eurovision Song Contest, They hold the world in their own bottle.
Armenia is example of country, which is really saved by jury every year. Portugal and Poland were saved in 2014. Finland and Estonia were saved last year, Georgia in 2011. Ireland, Israel, Belarus, Bulgaria, Moldova, Macedonia and Switzerland also every year are favorites of jury.
ESC performance in terms of staging will be different from the one in this video, and I find this one already impressive.
Jury in the Eurovision Song Contest is mystery. They’re just giving away points. Only this is required from them. Lack of any comment. This is not “A Dal”. Maybe this is too serious to be like “A Dal”? Does it have to be this way? Does anyone have an interest in this?
I sensed it from the beginning. If Russia will have some idea for staging, this may be strange and ridicoulous, as many entries in Estonian selections this year.
This is of course much lower level than Sakis Rouvas. He was more original and creative, but also he had very strong rivals.
Russia and Hungary are similar countries, because they have dictators. Their entries for ESC 2016 are much more different. Freddie has serious, worthy and decent work, Sergey Lazarev not. Tightness is basis. Good entry must be tight, convex, hilly and pulling, not flat, blunt, shallow and without idea for staging.
