GREECE – Dimitris Kontopoulos, author of the 2019 Russian entry and veteran in the Eurovision Song Contest with songs for Russia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Greece, spoke to OPEN Beyond TV and made some short but very keen statements for Greece and Russia.
I didn’t represent Greece this year because I wasn’t proposed. There are many other authors who can show their work.
Comparing representing Greece and Russia he said that the difference with Russia is organisation.
Demy’s result in Eurovision 2017 wasn’t the one that anticipated. In many interviews asked about the betting odds Dimitris said that if I am called to answer why Russia is third or fourth in the odds, then what should be the answer of a country’s representative who’s betting odds show him 40th.
Discussing the issue of Eleni Foureira not representing Greece but Cyprus, Dimitris said that ERT should have an expert panel listening to anyone’s submissions before going into a national final or internal selection.
He doesn’t reveal anything about Sergey’s stage presentation. He explains that the stage presentation will not be as the one in 2016. It will still be impressive but this time there will be focus on Sergey’s excellent vocals.
