ICELAND – We have to admit that Icelandic national broadcaster deserves congratulations for publishing this information. We doubt any other broadcaster would have done it. RÚV official website reports that the broadcaster was fined with the amount of 5,000 euros for Hatari’s behavior at the Eurovision Song Contest Grand Final when they waved the Palestinian flag on camera.

The RÚV’s statement states that the agency has objected to the EBU’s intention to fine the Broadcaster for the conduct of Hatari. The broadcaster claimed that they did everything possible to stop the incident from happening and note that it is impossible for a broadcaster to control those things or their artists all the time.
In the meantime, Iceland confirmed participation in the 2020 Eurovision Song Contest and set dates for their national selection.
