PORTUGAL – Back in 2017 when Salvador Sobral won the Eurovision Song Contest in Kyiv, he made a big fuzz among the fans and the press, mocking Eurovision, talking about fast-food songs and saying that he wants nothing to do with Eurovision.
He also mocked NETTA during the Lisbon rehearsals while ultimately he had to hand over the trophy to her.
His participation in the NETFLIX Eurovision movie was a delight for us and the Eurofans. It was a scene totally sentimental causing tears seeing the arrival of the Icelandic participants in Edinburgh watching Sobral playing the piano on the streets and performing his stunning Eurovision entry.
Portuguese singer and Eurovision winner Salvador Sobral was invited to be a part of the film as a street musician in a brief scene which he agreed. He was then asked to do another scene with Will Ferrell but refused as the production didn’t offer a fee raise.
He didn’t even bother to mention the movie in his social media!
In such a historic moment for Eurovision and what that movie can mean to the fandom, he managed to screw his popularity for good!
