After nine full days of auditions throughout the country, the jury of the preselection for the Romanian Eurovision national selection has finally reached a verdict: 32 songs will compete in the two semifinals, on the 23rd and 24th of February.
“Though we first announced a maximum of 28 songs in the semifinals, the quality of the music we had the chance to listen was very high, so it determined the jury to accept a larger number of songs. There will be 32 entries in the semifinals, and 12 of them (6 from every semifinal) will qualify in the final. All the 32 songs will be posted online, on http://www.tvr.ro/eurovision, starting February the 18th, for Eurovision fansโ, said Dan Manoliu, manager of the Romanian selection.
Among the surprises of the auditions was Renรฉe Santana, Carlos Santanaโs niece, who came from Cuba to compete for representing Romania at Eurovision 2013. She will have to fight some very famous artists in Romania and abroad, such as Luminiลฃa Anghel, Elena Cรขrstea Muttard, Natalia Barbu, but also some promising young artists, who proved their talent in different musical tv shows in Romania, like X Factor, Romaniaโs Got Talent and The Voice.
