After a disastrous 25th place in Tel Aviv, Thomas Schreiber, head of entertainment at NDR, stated that they would rethink their selection method for Eurovision 2020. Since then, NDR has been very quiet about what they want to do. Last year after Michael Schultes amazing fourth place, NDR already had the jury assembled by the end of July. This year however, they left the fans in the dark up until now.

Supernova producer Ilze Jansone explained that thins are not as dramatic as spread around the web but they do look for alternatives to reduce costs and make the show more efficient and effective.
NORTH MACEDONIA ๐ฒ๐ฐ
North Macedonia becomes the next country to confirm their participation in the 2020 Eurovision Song Contest. Further details regarding how they will select their entrant have not yet been revealed, however they have opted for an internal selection in previous years.
MALTA ๐ฒ๐น
Auditions have been taking place throughout Malta over the past few months with the Six-Chair Challenge being filmed on September 20 and 21. The judging line up for X Factor Malta contains no changes from the first series. Howard Keith, Ira Losco, Alexandra Alden and Ray Mercieca all remain on the panel for the upcoming season. Furthermore, Ben Camille will be returning for a second season as the showโs presenter.
CROATIA ๐ญ๐ท
At the beginning of the week, it was reported that Croatian broadcaster HRT would decide on Eurovision 2020 participation in October. However, they have now confirmed to ESCToday that they will indeed participate, becoming the 31st country to express their interest. They have not yet revealed how they will select their entry, however this year they used the national final selection show Dora.
KAZAKHSTAN ๐ฐ๐ฟ
In response to a question from ESCXtra, the EBU has confirmed that there are currently no plans to invite Khabar Agency to participate in the Eurovision Song Contest 2020.
THE NETHERLANDS ๐ณ๐ฑ
AVROTROS, the Dutch national broadcaster, has confirmed that they will use an internal selction to select their entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 in Rotterdam.
CYPRUS ๐จ๐พ
The broadcaster responsible for the Cypriot participatin in the Eurovision Song Contest, CyBC with their channel RIK being the broadcast channel for Cyprus in Eurovision, confirmed that they will be starting to look at bids from recording companies to represent the Mediterranean island natin in the next contest in 2020. The contest is expected to take place in Rotterdam, Netherlands.

Greece semi to have confirmed their participation in Eurovision 2020 with further strategy and planning ahead (awaiting obviously the new administration to be officially appointed). There has been analysis of the 2019 result and ERT Eurovision team is ready to go after the 2020 Rotterdam project.

Save the date! Organiser of Eurovision In Concert have announced that the event will be taking place on Saturday 4th April 2020. The Dutch pre-party event for Eurovision will be taking place again at AFAS Live in Amsterdam.

RTVE entertainment director Toรฑi Prieto hints at changes in national selection for ESC 2020. On Tuesday, Toรฑi Prieto revealed some new details about Spainโs participation in Rotterdam. TVEโs entertainment director said that RTVE will make significant changes in its selection process. She also said that they have been working on said changes for two months now. Previously, RTVE announced that Operaciรณn Triunfo will be held in 2019. But it wasnโt clear whether or not the show will decide the Spanish singer for ESC 2020, as it did for the past two years.
