LJUBLJANA, SLOVENIA – Now we know who is in the race for the next Slovenian representative. We can also say that Darja Švajger (ESC ’95 & ’99), Matej Wolf (coposer, producer), Aleksander Radić (one of the EMA editors) and Jernej Vene (music editor at radio Val 202) were in the selection committee. And now a bit about the contestants.
Alya has already participated in EMA, so she has the necessary experience and she was one of our first picks. This year she will perform in duet with Croatian Neno Belan, who has published 12 albums in his long career.
Jana Šušterić got her fame in Slovenia wining Got Talent show. She is also famous in Serbia as she was part of popular band Neverne Bebe.
Martina Majerle is probably the contestant with the most Eurovision experience. She was on stage as backing vocalist in 2003, 2007, 2008, 2011, 2012 and 2014. She has also represented the country with string quartet Quartissimo in 2009, in Moscow. Her song is written by Andrej Babić, also one of our picks.

Maraaya is a duo made of Marjelka and Raay (one of our composer picks). She and Raay were the authors of the song with what Tangels participated at EMA in 2010. And Raay is a famous composer, who often does a bit singing. His songs represented Slovenia at both Eurovision, senior and junior.

Rudi Bučar, also our pick, participated in EMA in 2009 (with Alya) and last year with the band Elevators. He was also a backing vocal in 2007. to Alenka Gotar.
Last, but not the least, we have Tim Kores – Kori. He was part of group In&out which participated in the final of Slovenian X Factor.
These eight acts will perform on February 28th and a three member jury will select the two best songs. Out of those two, just like last year, the televoters solely will pick the winner and therefore the Slovenian representative for Vienna.
