PRESS RELEASE
During the program Serenissima broadcasted tonight at 9 pm on the satellite channell of San Marino RTV, the TV Director General Mr. Carlo Romeo stated that to avoid rumors regarding jury voting in the Eurovision Song Contest, the EBU should organize the national juries itself, avoiding broadcasters to take part in the selection of the jurors. ‘Every year rumors about jury voting spread on the net.
EBU receives critics for the voting method and for potential opacity of this or that country. Maybe should turn the ESC into a more modern and transparent contest organizing the national juries – which represent 50% of the final vote – keeping out the broadcasters from the organization’.
EDITORIAL ESTIMATION
The idea looks nice and interesting but how EBU on its own will take over such a project? They are not aware of the showbiz system established in each country and how will find the proper people required for such a spot? What if those selected refuse to take the stand? If they rely on broadcasters’ proposals then how do they know that they are not influenced as well (even more, in advance). What SMRTV and EBU don’t realise is that the “jury system” was, is and will remain under influence and the simplest way to stop it, is to just remove it from the procedure!
It would also be interesting for SMRTV to give a good explanation on how their jury decided to give 12 points to Greece this year?

German jury gave 12 points to Sweden this year. When will Shitotimes question that decision and ask for an explanation from the German jury?
But what’s the problem anyway for giving their 12 points to Greece?? i don’t understand why oikotimes makes such a big fuss about it….. after all Greece ended 6th in overall score and 4th in the televoting…
San Marino gave their top 12 to Greece in 2008 (Kalomira – Secret Combination) as well. According to the author of this article, that needs to be explained as well?
