SPAIN – As Amaia Romero celebrates her success at winning the latest edition of Operaci贸n Triunfo (Fame Academy), all eyes are now set on her appearance at Eurovision 2018 with Alfred Garcia.
Both Amaia and Alfred will represent Spain at Eurovision in Lisbon with the song “Tu canci贸n” but last night it was Amaia on her own, who won the latest contest of Operaci贸n Triunfo, beating Aitana Oca帽a and Miriam Rodr铆guez to the title and 100,000 Euro prize.
Alfred came fourth, on a night where has has admitted to have been very nervous, something which will need to be worked on in view of Lisbon and the duet which Spain and TVE hope will enamour the Eurovision fans and public alike.
Amaia took to the stage with “Miedo” by MClan obtaining 46% of the vote in contrast to the 42% obtained by Aitana, in a very tight final.
The victory has been well received by Spanish media who appear to agree that the best voice achieved victory. It should be noted that Amaia is not new to the music world, as some of her family members have been part of various groups and she, herself was a child performer on various television networks.
There was a star appearance by David Bisbal, who sang acapella however his appearance was slightly interrupted by sound problems on stage, an issue which has previously appeared on national finals.
