STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN – It must be our ears only as EBU and SVT confirmed that “If I Were Sorry” winner of Melodifestivalen and host country entry is not plagiarised as claimed.
Jon Ola Sand the Executive Supervisor of the EBU spoke to Expressen: “None of us or SVT believes that this is plagiarism. There have been pop music for over 70 years and there are many songs that may sound similar, but plagiarism is a legal term and sometimes authors and says that โthis is my song, he has stolen my song.โ Then we have to go to court to prove it. But no one has contacted us, no one has contacted SVT and then there is seemingly no plagiarism.”
