SWEDEN – According to the city official website, Östersund has been approached by SVT to host the second chance show of Melodifestivalen 2019 edition. This show determines which non qualifier can still have a chance to the #Melfest final. Östersund hosted one round of Melodifestivalen back in 2015.
The Östersund city decision was positive and from the official website we can have provisional dates for Melodifestivalen. It seems that everything kicks off on February 2nd and will concluded on March 9th.
Now something interesting Sweden is always the last to choose its entry following the Head of Delegations meeting which is exactly two months before the Eurovision Song Contest. Having that in mind and if the provisional dates confirmed then we can speculate that the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest in Israel is provisionally discussed to take place around 11th of May, which sounds extremely impossible as May 9th is the holocaust memorial in Israel.
Then the second (most reasonable) option would be most likely to have the Eurovision semi finals and final won 14, 16 and 18 of May.
But this is pure speculations!
