SWITZERLAND – It is no secret that Switzerland is not doing well in the recent Eurovision Song Contest editions but it seems that SRF is going to try hard to change that.
Swiss national broadcaster confirmed its participation to the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest with a twist, revealing that Martin Österdahl and Christer Björkman will assist them organise the national selection.
Martin Österdahl was the Executive Producer of Melodifestivalen in 2007 and 2008, a role he also took on when Sweden hosted the Eurovision Song Contest in 2013 and 2016. Christer Björkman has been responsible for the Swedish selection process for Eurovision since 2002 and Head of Delegation for the country annually, he was also a producer at Eurovision 2013, 2016 and 2017.
It’s no secret that Swedish influence affects many countries, such as Australia as Paul Clarke revealed.
After Swiss confirmation we count now 15 countries already for the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest: Belgium, Cyprus, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Norway, Poland, host country Portugal, Russia, Sweden and Switzerland.
