EUROPE – Various Eurovision stars derive from various talent shows for years now. It was in 2002 when Spanish talent show winner Rosa Lopez first entered the Eurovision Song Contest as a talent show winner. Though, today, some of the Eurostar seek talent show pay off of their Eurovision experience and prestige via various talent shows across Europe.
LeKlein, won the Eurocasting selection last year in Spain becoming one of the hot favourites to represent Spain in the Eurovision Song Contest. Despite her failure in the national selection later on, the singer tried recently in The Voice auditions where she failed to qualify.
In the UK X-Factor now, Slavkoa Kazelic and 2003 Dutch national finalist Birgit Lewis attempted to dazzle the judges and get their spot to stardom. Berget will join Slavko at bootcamp which will air on ITV next weekend. Both of our Eurovision-connected acts will be in the Overs category and be fighting for places in the next round of the competition to air in early October: the Six Chair Challenge.
Let’s not forget that Sara Aalto from Finland almost did it in the UK talent show last year and risen in fame all over Europe with many predicting her representing Finland next year in Lisbon. Despite slaying by her performance Destiny from Malta didn’t go through the talent show qualifying rounds as well.
