BEIRUT, LEBANON – According to fan sites claiming they received an e-mail from Télé Liban, the country doesn’t exclude their participation in the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest.
Let’s remember the story so far. In 2005 Lebanon selected Aline Lahoud to participate in the Kyiv Eurovision Song Contest edition, an entry which was withdrawn few weeks before the contest causing Lebanon’s ban from the event for two years. Télé Liban refused to broadcast the Israeli entry back then.
Did they change their mind and law about it? Well, according to the rumoured e-mail, Télé Liban said that they didn’t say “no” to EBU and they still working on it with an answer coming up shortly. Well, let’s see if music will prevails over politics!
