RUSSIA – Although most of us had no doubt the official confirmation for the Russian participation in the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest came today by NTU’s Director General. If I was a bad person I would have said that somehow this interview is kinda “permission” to Russia to participate instead of just announcing the news.
RUSSIA – Speaking to Life Magazine, Aleksandr Panayotov said he is ready for representing Russia in the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest. He said also that Eurovision is about unifying Europe and nations through music. In the meantime RIA Novosti keeps pressuring the government to withdraw from the contest, something which now will not happen.
USA – We know it’s hard to believe, but Justin Timberlake apparently knew nothing about the Eurovision Song Contest – until he turned up to perform at least. Appearing on The Graham Norton Show, JT revealed that he actually said yes to performing at the contest before knowing anything about the iconic event. Sacrilegious. “I did, but not before I said yes to it,” he admitted. “Then, when I told people I was doing it they would respond with, ‘Oh, why are you doing that show?’ “I thought, ‘Why not, a lot of people watch it!’ It was a lot of fun.” Although we’re not quite sure how you can spend 35 years on this earth without experiencing the joy that is Eurovision, we’re glad enjoyed his time there. Taking to the stage at the show’s halfway point, Justin performed a jazzed-up version of that ’00s classic ‘Rock Your Body’ as well as his new single (for new movie Trolls) ‘Can’t Stop The Feeling!’. Justin has been getting comfortable on Graham’s sofa to promote his upcoming animated comedy Trolls alongside Anna Kendrick.
