UKRAINE – The meeting of the Reference Group in Kyiv started on 10th of November and its members are examining the progress of the Eurovision 2017 preparations. Head of the Tourism Department of KCSA Anton Taranenko revealed that EBU’s Jon Ola Sand and Nadja Burkhardt inspected Kyiv Column Hall of KSCA, where the Host Insignia Handover Ceremony and the Semi Finals allocation draw will take place in late January and the result was impressive for the delegates.
JUNIOR EUROVISION 2016 – It is awesome to learn that a UK radio and Slovenian national broadcaster join the German national broadcaster in the line up for sharing the #jesc2016 final on November 20th. UK radio will be in audio, obviously, RTVSlo linear and German national broadcaster on the web. It’s a good step to show the whole Europe what a magnificent show they miss!
HUNGARY – #Grind is the new song by Kallay Saunders, the 2014 Hungarian participant in the Eurovision Song Contest. While he missed the chance to represent his country in 2016, he posted on Facebook a photo wondering whether to “send or not send” obviously to A Dal 2017! We surely say “DO IT!”
UKRAINE – Sofia Rol’s problem with the funding of her venture to Malta seems to be solved although 300,000 UAH are remaining to be found. So far 250,000 UAH gathered by sponsors and 148,000 UAH from the Ministry of Culture (seems the press pressure worked out fine). The charity fund UWCF also donated 70,000 UAH and private sponsors 20,000 UAH. It is expected the remaining funds to be covered by Sofia’s family although they are waiting for potential sponsors and donations. Ministry of Culture has never financed Junior Eurovision participation but due to circumstances they decided to find money to support Sofia. (well done!)
