CZECH REPUBLIC 🇨🇿 – National broadcaster, Česká Televize announced they have more than 300 submissions, most of them in English but also in Czech and French. The songs were submitted under the rule that performer should be Czech. It remains to see how the selection will be made. There is no clear view if there will be national final with an artist and songs or open national final with various artists.Already we know that the French song is submitted by Annabelle who was approached by the broadcaster itself. Other artists who openly admitted their bidding are: Yanna, Mikolas Josef, Jakub Ondra.
KAZAKHSTAN 🇰🇿 – Kazakhstan’s Channel 31 announced their new EBU status as associate member and they don’t hide their ambition to enter both the senior and Junior Eurovision Song Contests. Already Kazakhstan sent a delegation to Tbilisi to follow the 2017 Junior Eurovision Song Contest while they bring Danelia Tulesheva and Muhammedali Zhugunusov to perform their music during the JESC week in the Georgian capital as a gig. Kazakhstan wants to participate in the Minsk Junior Eurovision edition in 2018 if their EBU membership upgrades. But they can also get an invitation by the EBU just like Australia to enter the contest.
FINLAND 🇫🇮 – From Finland to San Marino. 2017 favourite in UMK, Emma, is now bidding to San Marino’s marathon selection. She performed the song Rise Up by Andra Day in order to enter the preselection. In the meantime Emma is uploading various videos on her YouTube channel.
SLOVENIA 🇸🇮 – 108 songs submitted to RTVSLO for the 2018 national selection, EMA. Rules obligated those submitting their songs to perform them in Slovenian although there is no decision whether the song will be performed in Slovenian or English in Lisbon. Full rules for national selection will be released by RTVSLO on December 1st. On December 8th we will know the finalists for the live shows of EMA 2018.
GEORGIA 🇬🇪- A week to go for the final of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest and the national broadcaster revealed that the project cost 2.2 million Euros. Today the Opening Ceremony takes place in Tbilisi where there will be draw for the countries’ performance. The event will be aired live on YouTube. Rehearsals begin tomorrow. The trophy for the winner remains the same. The contest will be aired live on November 26th at 16:00 CET. Although oikotimes.com is not following the event this year within the day there will be editorial review for all 16 entries, alongside an oikopanel voting and we will open soon our annual Junior Europrediction for the lovers of web polls.
