HILVERSUM, THE NETHERLANDS – Dutch national broadcaster confirmed tonight that Douwe Bob will be indeed the representative of The Netherlands in the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest as previously speculated by regional media also on oikotimes.com.

Douwe Bob Posthuma (Amsterdam, 12 December 1992) is a Dutch singer-songwriter. He won the Dutch talent show The Best Singer-Songwriter in the Netherlands, created and presented by Giel Beelen. He specializes in folk and country music. He will represent the Netherlands in the Eurovision Song Contest 2016.
Douwe Bob, son of Simon Posthuma, known for his membership of the designer group The Fool, started playing piano at the age of 6, initially concentrating on classical music and jazz. He took up the guitar at age 14. As a singer he was inspired by country, folk and pop music from the 1950’s to the mid 1970’s
