Paul Gogarty, a former Irish Green Party politician has admitted he submitted a song for the Eurovision Song Contest though he did not make the cut. The politician turned singer has released a new single he hopes will do better overseas after being snubbed at home.
“It’s an electronic-based song, the album version is very different. I remixed the original and it sounds almost a bit like New Order. I submitted it for Eurovision but obviously wasn’t successful. I’ve written an album’s worth of material. I’ve been sending it to DJs in Germany and overseas because it has a Euro-funk sound”, Gogarty said.
